Tripoli: Libya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, engaged in a significant meeting with Ambassador Christina Lassen, Denmark's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, to address the latest developments and ongoing challenges within Libya. Denmark is currently presiding over the United Nations Security Council for the month of August.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was part of a series of consultations among Security Council members. Al-Sunni highlighted that discussions focused on the evolving political landscape in Libya and the hurdles facing the country's political process. He emphasized the importance of these consultations in aligning international efforts towards stabilizing Libya.
In addition to the meeting with Ambassador Lassen, Al-Sunni reported holding discussions with the African Ambassadors Group on the Security Council, known as A3, which consists of Liberia, Somalia, and Sierra Leone. This meeting aimed at fostering a unified African stance regarding the situation in Libya, signaling a concerted effort to address the multifaceted issues the country faces.
During his engagement with the African Group, Al-Sunni provided a comprehensive briefing on Libya's political, economic, and security conditions.
