Doha, Head of Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, announced that Libya is working to alleviate the suffering of landlocked countries in Africa, by facilitating transit trade, despite the exceptional circumstances it is going through.

In his speech, Sunday, at the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries held in the Qatari capital, Al-Menfi called for providing assistance to countries of origin and transit in Africa, to encourage migrants to stay in their countries by establishing real development projects.

He said that Libya, which realizes that the least developed countries are capable of creating a prosperous future for their people despite the challenges and obstacles they face, supports the Doha Action Programme for 2022-2031 Decade, which focuses on creating a new generation for the least developed countries, and reaffirms its commitment to the lofty principles sponsored by the United Nations in that matter .

Al-Menfi stressed the right of the least developed countries to possess knowledge and technology and bridge the scientific gap, calling on the international community to give priority to the support provided to implement the outcomes of the Doha Action Plan and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and to establish a global emergency fund in which all countries of the world contribute to confront epidemics and disasters. natural disasters and the effects of war, and to ensure that medicine and food reach everyone.
