Al-Maliki calls on the European Union countries to demand an end to the Zionist aggression against Gaza

Baghdad, Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, today, Tuesday, called on the European Union countries to demand an end to the Zionist aggression against Gaza, while warning them of the anger of the Arab peoples.

The media office of the head of the State of Law coalition said in a statement that Al-Maliki received in his office the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Iraq, Eric Chevalier.

The statement added, “During the meeting, developments in the situation in the region and the repercussions of the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip were discussed.”

Al-Maliki reiterated “Iraq’s position towards the Palestinian issue and the aspirations of the Palestinian people, to obtain their legitimate rights,” stressing, “the continuation of the systematic violations of the Zionist occupation in Gaza requires the entire world to take more than denunciation,” praising “the positions of the European peoples and the marches of the solidarity that emerged in Britain, America and a number of European countries in rejection of the Zionist aggression.”

Al-Maliki warned, “Western countries against the anger of the Arab peoples, in the event that the wars of extermination led by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people continue,” calling, “The European Union countries to maintain their relations with the Arab peoples by supporting their demand for the necessity of stopping the war.”

For his part, Ambassador Chevalier expressed “Paris’s desire to expand the horizons of cooperation with Baghdad,” expressing his hope to “end the intensity of the conflict and enhance stability throughout the Middle East.”
