Tripoli: Arabian Gulf Oil Company announced a meeting between its leadership and representatives of Shell to discuss avenues for technical and commercial cooperation and to pave the way for a long-term strategic partnership.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions are part of Arabian Gulf Oil Company's ongoing efforts to enhance its production capacity and develop its oil infrastructure. The focus was on establishing a roadmap aimed at increasing production rates and developing mature fields.

The two sides explored the possibility of using Shell's advanced enhanced oil recovery technologies to extend the lifespan of fields operated by Arabian Gulf Oil Company. This would address the technical challenges facing some oil sites, ensuring the continuity of revenue streams for the state.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of technology and expertise transfer, with an emphasis on training Libyan national personnel. Familiarizing them with the latest global management and operational systems adopted by Shell is expected to raise operational efficiency and develop the company's human resources.

A series of intensive technical workshops were held on the sidelines of these meetings with relevant departments. Participating teams were divided according to department and specialization to ensure precise coordination, the exchange of specialized expertise, and the exploration of practical solutions to the challenges facing each sector.

The company noted that these steps reflect the growing confidence in the Libyan oil sector and its ability to attract investments and major international companies. This preliminary cooperation represents a shared vision for a more sustainable and efficient energy future, combining extensive local expertise with global technological innovation.
