Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has launched a digital platform aimed at engaging Libyan youth aged 18-35 in the Structured Dialogue process. This initiative provides young Libyans with a space to contribute their voices to ongoing political discussions and efforts in the country.

According to Libyan News Agency, the digital youth platform seeks to maximize youth participation across Libya by enabling them to engage in the Structured Dialogue. The platform serves as a complement to the youth members already involved in the dialogue, ensuring that a broader range of young voices is incorporated into the political process.

Participants of the platform will have the chance to express their opinions on key issues under discussion and communicate these perspectives to their representatives in the Structured Dialogue. This ensures that the concerns and ideas of youth from various regions of Libya are considered in the nation’s political discourse.

Special Representative of the Secre
tary-General, Hanna Tetteh, emphasized the significance of youth involvement by stating, “Libyan youth are not just the future of the country; they are the present. They are the most adversely affected by the ongoing political crisis and are the ones who have the most to gain from a peaceful transition where they get to elect the leaders of their choice.”
