Riyadh: The United Nations and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed to coordinate international support for the political process in Libya, emphasizing the significant role of Libyan institutions in advancing the political roadmap. The agreement underscores the importance of Libyan dialogue in achieving common interests among all parties involved.
According to Libyan News Agency, this development emerged from a meeting between UN Special Representative Hannah Tetteh, her Deputy for Political Affairs Stephanie Khoury, and Abdullah bin Dakhil Al-Salami, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy. The discussions focused on Tetteh’s recent briefing to the Security Council and the political roadmap facilitated by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), which aims to unify Libyan institutions and pave the way for national elections.
During the meeting, which took place on Monday, Tetteh expressed her gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its cooperation and support. She acknowledged Saudi
