Turkish Ambassador Congratulates Egypt on Anniversary of October 6 Victory


Turkey’s Ambassador to Cairo, Salih Mutlu Sen, extended his congratulations to the Egyptian military and the Egyptian people on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the October 6 victory.

In a message posted on his Facebook page, Ambassador Sen stated, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the heroic Egyptian army and the brotherly Egyptian people on the 51st anniversary of the October 6 victory.”

The ambassador also reflected on his comments about the Egyptian military during his speech at the Turkish Victory Day celebrations (Armed Forces Day) held on August 30, 2024. He highlighted that “the Egyptian army made heroic sacrifices and demonstrated its courage in defending Egyptian lands and for the cause of Palestine.”

Ambassador Sen further noted the deep historical ties between the Egyptian and Turkish militaries, emphasizing the strong traditional similarities between them. He praised the Egyptian army as one of the strongest in the region and acknowledged its well-established and influential rol
e within the Arab and Islamic world.

Additionally, Ambassador Sen expressed Turkey’s appreciation for the strength and esteemed status of the Egyptian Armed Forces and the significance of Egypt as a nation. He announced that, in line with a decision by the President of Turkey, the rank of the military attaché at Turkey’s embassy in Cairo has been elevated from colonel to brigadier general.
