Tripoli: The head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hannah Tetteh, declared that the truce in the capital, Tripoli, is fragile, and the overall security situation remains unpredictable.

According to Libyan News Agency, during her second briefing on Libya to the UN Security Council via video link, Tetteh reported continued mobilization, which raises fears of renewed armed clashes in the capital.

She highlighted that the demonstrations following the clashes in Tripoli indicate significant citizen frustration and a lack of confidence in the current state of affairs.

The UN envoy commended the state security forces for managing the peaceful demonstrations in Tripoli.

Tetteh also noted that evidence found after the security incidents in the Abu Salim area pointed to severe human rights violations allegedly committed by stabilization support groups.
