Al-Sayeh Engages with UN on Libya’s Electoral Process

Tripoli: The Chairman of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Al-Sayeh, had a meeting today with the Head of the Strategic Assessment Mission of the United Nations Mission in Libya, Daniela Koroslak. The discussions focused on recent developments in the electoral process and the United Nations’ role in providing technical and advisory support to the Commission.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Commission’s media office noted that the meeting is part of the broader support from the United Nations and the international community for the electoral process in Libya. This support encompasses assistance in managing operations, training personnel, and ensuring a secure electoral environment that encourages participation from all target groups.

During the meeting, Koroslak commended the Commission for its efforts in the completed stages of the electoral process, particularly the municipal council elections. She reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to supporting Libya’s democratic process by offering technical and logistical support to ensure the elections’ integrity and transparency. This commitment is aimed at contributing to stability and local development in the country.
