Thwarting an attempt to bring smuggled cigarettes into Baghdad

Baghdad, The Popular Mobilization Authority Forces announced that it had thwarted an attempt to bring smuggled cigarettes into Baghdad under Al-Soor checkpoint in Al-Karmah district in Anbar Governorate. The Authority stated in a statement: 'A force from the 27th Brigade (First Regiment - Special Tasks) of the Popular Mobilization Forces arrested two smugglers who attempted to bring smuggled cigarettes into the capital, Baghdad, in Al-Soor checkpoint in Al-Karma district in Anbar province.' It added: '200 cartons of smuggled cigarettes were seized by hiding them in two Mercedes Actros trucks. The necessary due process was taken against the detainees and the two-vehicles.'
