The Presidential Council launches the First Social Track Gathering for National Reconciliation

Tripoli-The Presidential Council launched in the capital Tripoli on Wednesday morning the “First Social Track Forum for National Reconciliation” in the presence of a large number of sheikhs, dignitaries and elders of Libya.

The President of the Council Mohammed Al-Menfi stressed at the opening event that national reconciliation is one of the most important projects that the Presidential Council is working on, in its social, constitutional, economic, and military aspects, praising the role of wise men and notables, whom he described as Libya’s ambassadors at home to support the reconciliation project and the Social Path Forum.

For his part, the Vice President, Abdullah Al-Lafi, explained that since the Council received the national reconciliation file, it has been keen on its success, pointing out that the success of the Libyans in electing a National Congress in 2012, which produced a number of governments, It has not succeeded in addressing the issues that could get the country n0ne of which succeeded in addressing the issues that could lead the country to elections.

He also referred to a number of gatherings organized by the Presidential Council within the national reconciliation project, including legal, youth and other forums, explaining that this project is long overdue, and is one of the most important pillars of peacebuilding in Libya, and is the property of all Libyans, and is supervised by the Presidential Council, in cooperation with experts specialized in many fields of state institutions, and Libyan universities for a secure and stable homeland.

He stressed that the recommendations that will come out of the gathering will be the cornerstone for holding the first reconciliation conference, which will lead us to agree on a national charter.

According to the Presidential Communication Office, the floor was opened for discussion by the attendees, who confirmed that the Presidential Council is moving steadily in the national reconciliation project, expressing their full support for all the steps it takes in this regard.
