Tripoli, Interior Minister Khaled Mazen on Monday held a meeting with the European Union’s Ambassador to Libya José Sabadell, during which a number of files were discussed, including illegal migration and its implications and security challenge for Libya and the EU.
Mazen stressed the need for developing a joint strategy for cooperation with the European Union for the year 2022 with regard to security cooperation and files supported by the Union in accordance with the agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two sides. For his part, the EU Ambassador expressed his understanding of what the minister put forward, stressing readiness of the European Union to work in accordance with the joint strategy, and support for the Libyan Interior Ministry.
