The Council of Ministers holds its forty-second regular session, headed by Al-Sudani, and takes several decisions

Baghdad - Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired today, Tuesday, the forty-second regular session of the Council of Ministers, during which the most important developments in the general situation in the country were discussed, and the implementation of the basic files included within the priorities of the government program and their follow-up were discussed, in addition to researching the topics listed on the agenda and issuing decisions thereon.

A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office stated that, in compliance with the ministerial platform that the House of Representatives voted on, on October 27, 2022, the Council of Ministers agreed that the Communications and Media Authority would issue a national mobile phone license using fifth generation technology for an exclusive period of (3) years, to Al Salam General Company, One of the formations of the Ministry of Communications.

In order to expand vital and strategic projects, and to advance development in the country, and to provide the necessary funding for them within the Iraqi-Chinese framework agreement, it was decided to approve an increase in the quantities of oil exported within the Iraqi-Chinese framework agreement to become (150,000) only one hundred and fifty thousand barrels per day, calculated on a monthly basis, instead of (100,000) one hundred thousand barrels per day.

It continued that, for the purpose of including social protection beneficiaries with Department of Labor and Training loans, removing them from the poverty line database and helping them establish income-generating projects, in accordance with the amounts allocated for this purpose, the Council decided to approve the exception of beneficiaries covered by the Social Protection Law (11 of 2014), including It allows the continuation of the subsidy disbursement for a period of (3) months after granting them the aforementioned loans, according to what was recorded in the letter of the Ministry of Labor, dated October 4, 2023. / End
