Tripoli: The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, engaged in discussions with the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, focusing on the latest political developments in Libya, including the outcomes of the recent 4+4 meetings.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Council's media office reported that the meeting highlighted the need for a clear legal and constitutional foundation for any electoral process. Takala emphasized that elections should be conducted within the framework of relevant Libyan institutions and should garner national consensus, aiming to achieve free and fair elections that will conclude the transitional phases.
Additionally, the discussions extended to Libyan-British relations, exploring avenues to strengthen their bilateral ties. Both parties agreed on the significance of continued communication and consultation on mutual interests and supported efforts aimed at achieving stability and unifying Libyan institutions.
