Strengthening cooperation between the House of Representatives and the Inter-Parliamentary Union discussed

Kigali– The delegation of the House of Representatives participating in the works of the 145th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) headed by the First Deputy Speaker of the House, Fawzi Al-Nuweiri, discussed with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Duarte Pacheco, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the Council and the Inter-Parliamentary Union. During this meeting, which was attended by the Chairman of the Legislative and Constitutional Committee “Ramadan Shambash” and the Head of the Office of the House of Representatives Abdullah Al-Masri Al-Fadil, Al-Nuweiri stressed importance of the role of the Inter-Parliamentary Union as an organization working to serve the member parliaments in achieving peace, stability, security and sustainable development.

Al-Nuweiri drew the attention of “Duarte Pacheco” to the fact that the conditions suffered by Libya must be taken into account and stand by it until it reaches the stage of elections on which the Libyan people rely to build their state, pointing out that there is a failure by the Inter-Parliamentary Union to consider what Libya suffers from, the political conditions and a state of internal division and external interference that has negatively affected the situation in our country, and that Libya needs support to reduce external interference in its internal affairs.

For his part, Duarte Pacheco stressed that there are issues that need special care from the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and that the Union has already taken into account the countries suffering from crises, pointing out that there is interest in providing the necessary support to them. According to the spokesman for the House of Representatives, Bleiheg the Inter-Parliamentary Union will provide parliamentary programs to the members of the House of Representatives, as well as the necessary support to enable Libyan parliamentarians obtain requirements of multilateral parliamentary diplomacy and bilateral diplomacy, as well as provide support and technical support to the staff of the Office of the House of Representatives in various fields of parliamentary work, develop their skills and provide them with international expertise in the process of preparing internal regulations and regulations for the work of the House of Representatives and its office.
