Spanish Ambassador Highlights Economic Significance of Misrata Free Zone

Misurata: The Spanish Ambassador to Libya, Javier Quintana, praised the capabilities and potential of the Misrata Free Zone during a visit, emphasizing its infrastructure and the operational and technical readiness of its port facilities.



According to Libyan News Agency, Ambassador Quintana’s visit to the Free Zone included meetings with the port’s Director General, Abdul-Mawla Abu-Luwaifa, the Director of Marketing and International Cooperation, Alaa El-Din Baba, and the Director of Investment, Wissam Abu-Luwaifa. The Ambassador highlighted the importance of the Misrata Free Zone for investment in the Mediterranean and North Africa, citing its readiness and competitive advantages. He discussed future aspirations for building strategic partnerships and attracting investments.



The Ambassador also conveyed Spain’s interest in strengthening trade relations with the Misrata Free Zone. He noted the intention to attract Spanish investors and explore investment opportunities within the zone and Libya at large.
