Shakshak and Oil Corporation Chairman Discuss Performance and Governance

Tripoli: The Head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, engaged in a meeting with the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, to deliberate on the overall performance of the NOC and its subsidiaries. The meeting, attended by directors from relevant departments and offices within the Bureau, focused on assessing the corporation's performance, the progress of its subsidiaries, and various financial, administrative, and technical aspects. Discussions also included compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and legislation to enhance institutional discipline and improve public resource management.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting also explored mechanisms for developing institutional performance, addressing existing shortcomings, and reinforcing transparency, accountability, and good governance principles. These efforts aim to enhance performance efficiency and improve the quality of work within the NOC and its subsidiaries.

During the discussions, the Head of the Audit Bureau stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and cooperation between the Bureau and the NOC. This collaboration supports the Bureau's oversight role and contributes to achieving national objectives related to the vital oil sector.

The Chairman of the NOC highlighted the efforts made to develop work and improve performance, alongside the challenges faced in operations. He emphasized the institution's commitment to strengthening financial and administrative discipline and adhering to the Audit Bureau's observations and recommendations.
