Second African Climate Summit Commences in Addis Ababa with Al-Koni’s Participation

Addis ababa: Ethiopian President Taye Atsekye Selassie announced today the launch of the second African Climate Summit (ACS2) in the Ethiopian capital. The summit, attended by Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, will feature the participation of African heads of state and government, development partners, intergovernmental organizations, academia, and civil society organizations, to address the challenges posed by climate change.

According to Libyan News Agency, participants at the summit, which concludes on Wednesday, will discuss several topics, including nature-based solutions and technology to drive adaptation, development, and resilience; climate risks in Africa and scalable responses; and climate finance.

It is worth noting that the summit is being held in partnership between the African Union and the Ethiopian government under the theme “Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Resilient Green African Development” to address climate disruptions, with a focus on nature-based solutions and regional solidarity.
