Tripoli: The Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh, met with Omar Tantoush, the Head of the Finance, Budget, and Planning Committee of the House of Representatives, to address pressing concerns regarding illegal immigration and the financing of the oil sector.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting highlighted the repercussions of illegal immigration, firmly rejecting any attempts to settle migrants within Libyan borders. It also focused on monitoring developments in the fuel sector and its financial aspects. Both Qaderbouh and Tantoush underscored the urgent need for decisive action to bolster border security, dismantle human trafficking networks, and oppose any policies that could alter Libya's demographic landscape or impose additional strains on the nation.

The discussions also covered the fuel sector's recent developments, including spending and consumption patterns. Emphasis was placed on enhancing oversight of the fuel distribution system to mitigate waste and smuggling. They also highlighted the importance of supporting the National Oil Corporation to maintain stable production and ensure sustainable fuel supplies.

The meeting concluded with a call for strengthened coordination between the General Authority for Oil Resources, the House of Representatives, and other pertinent authorities. This cooperation is deemed essential for protecting national resources, ensuring national security, and tackling pivotal issues for the public good.
