Ministry of Defense Secures Release of Kidnapped Libyans in Chad

Tripoli: The GNU Ministry of Defense has announced the successful release and safe return of four Libyan citizens who were kidnapped in Chad. This operation was conducted in collaboration with the Libyan Embassy in Chad and relevant Chadian authorities.

According to Libyan News Agency, six Libyan citizens from Ajdabiya were traveling into Chad with four trucks loaded with goods when they were attacked by an armed criminal group. The group kidnapped the citizens, seized the trucks, and demanded a ransom of approximately 900,000 Libyan dinars.

The Ministry reported that two of the hostages were killed during their captivity. The Ministry has been actively engaged in resolving the situation since the kidnapping occurred, working closely with the Charg© d'Affaires at the Libyan Embassy in Chad and Chadian authorities. This cooperation led to the successful location of the hostages and the execution of the operation to secure their release.

A private plane was arranged to transport the released citizens back to Libya, ensuring their safety throughout the process. The released citizens arrived at Tripoli International Airport after all necessary procedures were completed in Chad.
