President of Presidential Council participates in 3rd Summit of Turkish-African Partnership in Istanbul.

Istanbul, President of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Mnefi participated in the official opening of the third Summit of the Turkish-African Partnership, hosted by the Turkish city of Istanbul, under the theme “Strengthening partnership for development and common prosperity.” The summit was attended by African heads of state and government, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In a speech to the conference, the President of the Presidential Council said he aspires to Libya playing a greater role in the development of Turkish-African relations, given its geographical location, as one of the most important Sea gates of the African continent.

He referred to the delicate circumstances in which Libya is going through, calling for more efforts to be made to strengthen Libya’s stability by supporting the existing interim political authority, represented by the Presidential Council, to achieve its security, economic and political benefits, in accordance with the roadmap adopted by the Geneva Political Dialogue Forum.

The President of the Presidential Council added that the colonial experiences of most countries of the African continent have made them very keen to build foreign political and economic relations, respecting their independence, sovereignty and national choices, within the international principles of partnership between states.
