PM Visits The Syriac-Orthodox Mart Shmoni Church In Bartella And Stresses The Importance Of Consolidating The Principle Of Citizenship

Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani visited today, Saturday, the Syriac Orthodox Church of Mart Shmoni in Bartella, Al-Hamdaniya district, as part of his visit to Nineveh Governorate, which he arrived yesterday morning.

Al-Sudani met in the cultural center of the church, according to a statement by his office, with a number of notables from the district, in the presence of the Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Deir Mar Matti and Nineveh Plain, Bishop Musa Al-Shamani, the priest of the Bartella Church, Father Jacob Saadi, and a number of Christian clerics.

Al-Sudani affirmed his keenness to visit the Nineveh Plain and meet its components, pointing out that the government program included the implementation of projects, service programs and economic plans to advance the status of the Nineveh Plain regions, in a way that enhances the security of citizens and affirms the principle of peaceful coexistence throughout Nineveh Governorate.

He stressed: the importance of consolidating the principle of citizenship, which the government is keen to adopt as an identity and a starting point towards more integrated work, which is in the service of citizens, who are patient, do fairness to them and meet their requirements, stressing his rejection of the principle of dominance that disperses the national effort and disrupts the government’s goals in social and economic development .

He explained: There is no alternative to the state, as it is the guarantor of all its children.

Al-Sudani stated: Many problems were diagnosed during his visit to Nineveh Governorate, and they will be addressed through the government follow-up team, which will be present in the governorate and granted broad powers that will remove obstacles related to many files.
