Pezeshkian, Macron Discuss Mechanisms To De-Escalate The Region

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, during a phone call, the mechanisms capable of stopping the confrontations and establishing a ceasefire between the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Zionist entity.

According to the Iranian “IRNA” news agency, the two presidents reviewed the latest regional developments, especially the escalation in southern Lebanon.

In addition, President Pezeshkian said: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always called for a safe region far from wars and tensions, and welcomed the ceasefire, and stop confrontations and conflicts.”

He said: “Iran took the side of calm for a while regarding the cowardly assassination carried out by the Zionist entity that targeted the head of the Hamas Political Bureau, the martyr Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran, after the leaders of Western countries pledged to activate the ceasefire and stop the blood of innocents in Gaza, but the Zionists deliberately carried out more raids and expanded the war to include Leba
non, and showed that they do not adhere to any of the humanitarian standards and international laws.”

“The Islamic Republic welcomes and supports any proposal aimed at calming, peace and stability in the region,” Pezeshkian stressed, calling on the French president to make efforts with the participation of other European leaders to force Israel to stop its genocidal crimes and not commit more massacres in Gaza and Lebanon. The Iranian president also considered the recent positions of the French government in condemning the actions of the Zionist entity inside Lebanon and stopping the supply of weapons to it as “positive.”
