Muscat: Presidential Council member Musa Al-Koni met today in the Omani capital, Muscat, with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya, Hanna Tetteh, and the Lebanese Minister of Culture, and former UN Special Representative to Libya, Ghassan Salama. Al-Koni reported that the meeting focused on the latest political developments in Libya and explored ways to support UN efforts to advance the political process and achieve stability. He highlighted the importance of unifying efforts and increasing international support to ensure progress in the political process towards holding comprehensive elections and strengthening the national reconciliation project.

According to Libyan News Agency, Tetteh reiterated the Mission’s commitment to continuing coordination with various Libyan parties to support peaceful solutions. Salama emphasized the need to build upon the progress achieved in recent years to bridge differences and solidify the dialogue process. This, he stated, would ultimately lead to the elections that the Libyan people aspire to.
