The MP for the Coordinating Framework Forces, Aziz Al-Mayahi, called for a firm international stance towards insulting religious sanctities through the signing of a covenant document by all countries that criminalizes and prohibits such action and punishes any country, whatever it is, if it allows or tolerates such behavior.

Al-Mayahi said, in a press statement today, Saturday, that “the continued targeting of Islamic sanctities and the burning of the Holy Qur’an is not the first and will not be the last, as long as the Islamic positions do not go beyond denunciation, and messages of protest, which makes us obligated to unify the Islamic position in practice and not just in theory by activating economic sanctions and commercial boycotts to all countries that support such policies that stir up sectarian strife and support terrorist ideology.

He added, “Diplomacy, international relations, and even societal relations in everything, except for religion, is a red line that transcends all labels, and it is not possible to be complacent or courteous in such fateful matters that represent the basis of our existence in this universe.”
