Tripoli: The Chairman of the House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee, Youssef Al-Agouri, met today with the Sudanese Consul General, Abdul Rahman Rahmatallah, to discuss the situation of Sudanese citizens and displaced persons residing in Libya, given the exceptional circumstances Sudan is currently experiencing.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting addressed the evolving humanitarian situation in Sudan and its impact on Sudanese citizens, as well as the conditions of Sudanese displaced persons residing in Libya, and the efforts being made to provide them with necessary support, in accordance with the fraternal and historical ties that bind the Libyan and Sudanese peoples.
During the meeting, Al-Agouri emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the relevant authorities in both countries to address humanitarian issues and alleviate the suffering of those affected. He stressed the House of Representatives' commitment to supporting all efforts that promote stability and solidarity between the two brotherly nations.
The importance of strengthening joint cooperation and exchanging views on issues of common interest was also emphasized, in order to serve the interests of both countries and enhance the fraternal relations between Libya and Sudan.
