Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Recommends Continued Closure of Livestock Markets to Combat Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Tripoli: The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of National Unity has announced the need for the continued closure of livestock markets and restrictions on the movement of livestock. This decision has been made in collaboration with the Agricultural Police and Municipal Guard, aiming to control the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.

According to Libyan News Agency, the ministry issued a circular to all agriculture coordinators across municipalities and regions, outlining that these measures are based on recommendations from the National Center for Animal Health. The intent is to contain the foot-and-mouth disease effectively.

The ministry also emphasized the importance of adherence to preventive and precautionary measures. Livestock breeders are urged to comply fully with these guidelines to ensure the protection of livestock from the disease.
