The GNU Minister of Justice affirmed that she is seeking to sign similar agreements with other European and Arab countries so that no Libyan prisoner is left abroad.

The ministry stated on its Facebook page that the Minister, Halima Ibrahim, in her capacity as Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee and Chairman of the Committee for Libyan Prisoners Abroad, is making every effort to protect the rights and interests of Libyan citizens at home and abroad.

The ministry added that the minister signed an agreement to exchange prisoners sentenced to deprivation of liberty (prisoners) with Italy, which includes all Libyans in Italian prisons, including families accused of illegal migration.

Last Friday, the Minister signed a prisoner exchange agreement with her Italian counterpart, Carlo Nordio.
