Libyan Schools Commence High School Exams for 2024-2025 Academic Year

Tripoli: High school exams for the 2024-2025 academic year have begun in all Libyan schools. The first round of exams for the Secondary Education Certificate for the 2024-2025 academic year started today, Sunday, in public and private schools across Libya, supervised by the National Examinations Center.

According to Libyan News Agency, the National Examinations Center announced on its official Facebook page that 128,307 students have applied for the exams this year. The applicants are categorized as 114,554 regular students, 5,256 home-school students, and 8,497 supplementary students, spread across 134 educational supervisory bodies throughout the country.

The distribution of applicants by major is as follows: 103,166 students in the science section, 24,592 in the arts section, and 542 from religious education. The exams are taking place in 871 examination committees, utilizing approximately 8,554 examination halls, and are scheduled to continue until July 10, as per the approved schedule by the National E
xaminations Center.

In a statement issued on Saturday evening, Mr. Ahmed Masoud, the Director General of the National Examinations Center, confirmed that all technical and logistical preparations for the exams have been completed. This includes preparing, reviewing, printing, and readying the questions, as well as ensuring their transportation and distribution to examination offices across Libya’s education directorates.

The National Examinations Center, through its media office, urged the supervisory and monitoring committees to create an environment that facilitates a smooth exam process for students. It emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations, maintaining diligence, and preventing any form of cheating.
