Libya Calls for Restraint Following Bombing of Iran’s Nuclear Facilities

Tripoli: Libya expresses concern over the bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities and calls for restraint and dialogue. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity expressed its deep concern on Sunday over the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities at dawn today, considering it a dangerous escalation that threatens security and stability in the region and the world.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry affirmed Libya’s firm position rejecting the use of force in international relations outside the framework of international legitimacy, calling for dialogue, self-restraint, and avoiding any steps that could lead to further tension and military escalation.

The statement stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, in accordance with the UN Charter and the principles of international law. It reiterated Libya’s support for all efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and resolving conflicts through peaceful and diplomatic means.

The Ministry called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in preventing the deterioration of the situation and preventing a slide into further violence, in order to preserve the security and stability of the peoples of the region.
