Tripoli: The General Staff of the Libyan Army has announced the tragic death of Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad, along with his companions, following a plane crash on Tuesday evening. The crash occurred as they were returning from an official mission in Turkey.
According to Libyan News Agency, a statement from the Presidency, delivered by Lieutenant General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, Deputy Chief of Staff, expressed mourning for the loss of Lieutenant General al-Haddad and his companions. Those who perished in the crash include Lieutenant General al-Fitouri Ghraibil, Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces; Brigadier General Mahmoud al-Qatawi, Director of the Military Manufacturing Authority; Muhammad al-Asawi Diab, Advisor to the Chief of the General Staff; and Muhammad Omar Ahmad Mahjoub, a photographer at the Media Center of the General Staff.
