Tunis: A delegation from the Libyan Customs Authority engaged in discussions with Tunisian officials in Tunisia, focusing on the challenges faced by travelers crossing the land borders between the two countries.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Libyan delegation included the Director General of the Authority, along with several directors from relevant departments and offices. On the Tunisian side, the head of Tunisian Customs and several customs officials participated in the meeting. The discussions covered a range of topics aimed at facilitating the movement of travelers and trade between the two countries. Key issues included handling Libyan funds confiscated in Tunisia, determining the permissible value of money travelers can carry, registering Libyan cars in Tunisia, and easing trade movement through the Ras Jedir and Dehiba crossings.
Both sides expressed a commitment to enhance cooperation and work jointly to overcome the obstacles faced by travelers and the trade movement. This effort is seen as a contribution to strengthening the bilateral relations between Libya and Tunisia.
The meeting, held in Tunis, aligns with the framework set by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity’s Decision No. (26) of 2024. This decision involves the formation of a committee to address complaints from Libyan citizens traveling to Tunisia.
