Tripoli: Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, First Lieutenant General Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush, met today with Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, First Lieutenant General Bayraktaroglu, to discuss ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries and expand areas of partnership in support of building and developing Libya's military institution. According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, attended by Chief of Staff of the Libyan Ground Forces Major General Mohammed Moussa, focused on expanding training and capacity-building programs, exchanging expertise, improving the capabilities of Libyan army personnel, and enhancing their readiness. The discussion also covered areas of mutual military interest, including the air force and special forces, with the aim of developing specialized capabilities and improving performance and efficiency. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing and expanding cooperation in ways that serve their shared interests and s upport efforts to build a unified, professional Libyan military institution capable of carrying out its duties efficiently. The Turkish side reaffirmed its readiness to continue providing support, expertise, and cooperation in areas that contribute to developing the capabilities of the Libyan Army and enhancing its readiness. The Chief of the General Staff's visit to Ankara comes within the framework of the cooperation and friendship between Libya and Turkey and the General Staff's commitment to expanding partnerships and benefiting from international expertise and experience in developing Libya's military institution.
