Istanbul: Libya participated in the 41st session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which began on 1st November 2025 in Istanbul, Trkiye. Libya’s delegation included Commercial Attaché in Istanbul, Omar Darhoub; COMCEC official at the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Essam Al-Malhouf; and Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khairi Al-Alam.
According to Libyan News Agency, the current session is focusing on the latest global economic developments, particularly concerning OIC member states, and the 2025 Executive Program. One of the key topics under discussion is the enhancement of intra-trade among member states, alongside cooperation on digital transformation projects.
The session is expected to conclude with the adoption of draft resolutions, which will be submitted to the ministerial meeting scheduled for Monday. This meeting will see the participation of ministers from OIC
member states, aiming to further solidify the commitments discussed during the session.
