Egyptian and Maltese Ministers Meet to Discuss Libyan Crisis

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati met in Cairo with Maltese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and coordinate positions on several regional and international issues of common interest, including the Libyan crisis.

According to Libyan News Agency, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in Libya. Minister Abdel-Ati emphasized the necessity of continuing efforts to advance the political process, aiming for simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible. He also highlighted the importance of the withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory to support Libya’s stability and unity.
