Libya and Tunisia Explore Enhanced Tourism and Traditional Industries Cooperation

Tripoli: Libya and Tunisia are engaging in discussions to boost tourism and expand cooperation in traditional industries. The Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries in the Government of National Unity, Nasr al-Din al-Fazzani, held a meeting with Mohamed Habib al-Sadiq, the Charg© d'Affaires of the Tunisian Embassy in Libya, to address these efforts.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting took place in Tripoli and focused on encouraging tourism companies from both nations, overcoming existing obstacles, and enhancing coordination between relevant institutions. The Libyan Minister highlighted a forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding in traditional industries, which is expected to be signed soon. He also suggested hosting Tunisian trainers specializing in ceramics and carpets, a proposal welcomed by the Tunisian Charg© d'Affaires.

The Tunisian representative expressed gratitude to Libya for supporting Tunisia's bid to be named the Arab Tourism Capital for 2027, emphasizing the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and Tunisia's eagerness to strengthen bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to ongoing joint efforts aimed at promoting tourism and traditional industries, contributing to development and enhancing fraternal ties between Libya and Tunisia.
