LEBANESE MPS HOLD MEETINGS WITH OFFICIALS IN BRUSSELS: LEBANON COMMITTED TO FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF RESOLUTION 1701

A Lebanese parliamentary delegation, including Chairman Fadi Alameh and MPs Salim Al-Sayegh, Simon Abi Ramia, and Elias El Khoury, began an official visit to Brussels to discuss Lebanon’s situation with European officials.

The Lebanese MPs emphasized the need for ongoing reforms and legislative changes to restore confidence. The delegation commended the EU’s allocation of an additional 200 million euros and urged enhanced transparency and monitoring standards.

Discussions also covered the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland and support for UNRWA.

Concerns were raised over Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon and violations of Resolution 1701.

The delegation stressed Lebanon’s commitment to the full implementation of resolution 1701 and prioritized completing the presidential election process. Meetings included high-ranking EU officials and the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
