Issa and Shakshak Deliberate on State’s Financial Review

Tripoli: Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, discussed on Wednesday with the President of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, a number of common topics, most notably the country’s general financial situation.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on the review and approval of the Central Bank’s budgets by the technical committees assigned by the Audit Bureau. The discussion underscored the necessity to provide all necessary facilities for these committees and to expedite the review process to finalize and approve the accounts from 2017 to 2024.

The conversation also included oversight of the banking sector and the operational mechanism of audit firms appointed by the general assemblies to scrutinize and approve the financial statements of commercial banks. Both parties highlighted the importance of selecting experienced and professional firms for the approval of these financial statements.
