Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, to discuss the implementation of the corporation’s production plan and ongoing development projects in the oil sector.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office reported that Suleiman provided a detailed update on the stability of current oil production rates. He noted that crude oil production had reached more than 1.406 million barrels per day, with condensates exceeding 53,539 barrels per day, and natural gas production surpassing 2.550 billion cubic feet per day. These figures reflect the stability achieved by the corporation recently, while efforts are ongoing to enhance production rates through various development and exploration projects.
Suleiman also discussed a technical briefing on the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding with ExxonMobil. This agreement aims to conduct exploratory technical studies for four offshore blocks located off the northwest coast and the Sirte Basin, which are part of efforts to expand exploration and development opportunities in the offshore sector.
The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of a recent engagement between Suleiman and the executive management of SLB Schlumberger Middle East in London. They explored prospects for joint cooperation, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and improving exploration and production operations’ efficiency.
Prime Minister Dbaiba reaffirmed the Government of National Unity’s commitment to supporting the National Oil Corporation’s efforts to boost production levels and develop the sector. He lauded the corporation’s openness and international collaborations with major companies, which contribute to sectoral development and economic sustainability.
