Industry and Commerce Minister meets BAB delegation

Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro held a meeting with Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB) Chairman Adnan Ahmed Youssef and other members and discussed projects aimed at supporting the national economy.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed opportunities which will contribute to enhancing strategic cooperation between the ministry and Bahrain-based banks. Issues related to the national economy, banking and development work were also highlighted.

The two sides highlighted mainly the contributions of Bahrain banks, as well as their role in providing the necessary funding for key projects aimed to spur growth, boost the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), create jobs, develop the industrial and trade sector.

The meeting also focused on the role of banks in financing investment schemes, large and strategic projects which would reinforce Bahrain’s competitiveness and boost exports.

Youssef also highlighted the role of Bahrain banks which represent a major contributor to supporting the entrepreneurship sector, developing institutions and boosting investments in line with the financial services sector development strategy 2022-2026
