House of Representatives’ Committee Denounces Attack on Al-Tum Border Crossing

Tripoli: The House of Representatives' Defense and National Security Committee has condemned the attack on the Al-Tum border crossing in southern Libya, describing it as a failed attempt to destabilize the region.

According to Libyan News Agency, the committee issued a statement today, expressing condolences to the families of those who lost their lives while defending the country and its borders. The committee also wished for a swift recovery for the wounded, emphasizing the bravery of those who stood against the attack.

The committee warned of the serious repercussions that any internal or external support for outlawed armed groups could have on the security of southern Libya and neighboring countries. It urged all parties to adhere to the principles of good neighborliness and international law.

The statement praised the Libyan Armed Forces for their swift and decisive response, noting that the soldiers repelled the attack with high efficiency. The committee reassured that the Armed Forces remain vigilant in protecting Libya's sovereignty and security.

The committee reiterated that safeguarding national borders and ensuring stability in the south are top priorities. It called on citizens and the international community to support the state's efforts in confronting armed threats.
