Manama, In the presence and patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the final game of the Khalid bin Hamad Gold Generation tournament in the basketball category.
The game was between the Manama and Muharraq clubs at the Bahrain Basketball Federation Hall. Manama club defeated Muharraq club with a score of 90-64.
Present was His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of GSA, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Dr. Abdul Rahman Askar, CEO of the General Authority for Sport, representatives of the clubs of Manama and Muharraq, members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, officials of the General Authority for Sports, and a number of senior attendees and invitees. resented the tournament trophy to the Manama team.
His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa also joined at the trophy presentation to the champion Manama Club, runner-up Manama Club and Al Ahli team which came third.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid said that the tournament, one of the initiatives of the General Authority for Sports, aimed at fostering sports talents in various sports, including basketball.
He pointed the positive outputs of this initiative in creating a conducive environment for young players to develop their skills.
His Highness congratulated Manama Club for winning the title, commending the efforts of the club’s board of director, players and technical and administrative staff. HH also commended time the performance of Muharraq club, and wished them success in upcoming tournaments.
