Tripoli: The Head of the European Union Delegation to Libya, Nicola Orlando, held a meeting with the President, Vice-President, and several members of the Constitutional Drafting Assembly (CDA). The meeting focused on the political roadmap proposed by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Hanna Tetteh.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting addressed developments in the ongoing constitutional process and highlighted the role of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in fostering a comprehensive political process. This process aims to strengthen national unity and ensure citizens’ rights to choose their representatives through free and fair elections.
During the discussion, Orlando reiterated the European Union’s complete support for the efforts of the UN Mission in Libya. He noted that the meeting facilitated an in-depth dialogue with CDA members about the challenges and opportunities in the upcoming phase.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to maintaining close collaboration and coordination in the coming months. Orlando emphasized the importance of these efforts for the success of Libya’s political and constitutional processes.
