Brent Emphasizes Dialogue for Security Tensions in Tripoli

Tripoli: Abdulsalam Zubi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity, received the Charg© d’Affaires of the US Embassy to Libya, Mr. Jeremy Brent, in Tripoli on Tuesday.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on ways to strengthen the security partnership between the United States and Libya, affirming his country’s support for Libyan efforts to unify military institutions.

The US Charg© d’Affaires indicated that the meeting also addressed the security situation in the capital, Tripoli, emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm and addressing tensions through dialogue. Brent said, “Peace and stability are essential elements for Libya’s prosperity, and they contribute to strengthening ties between the United States and Libya.”

This meeting comes within the context of US support for the political and security process in Libya and the push towards lasting stability that leads to sustainable development in the country.
