GNU cabinet approves Libya’s accession to the World Energy Forum in Saudi Arabia

Tripoli-The cabinet of the Government of National Unity (GUN), in its meeting in Tripoli yesterday, approved Libya’s accession to the World Energy Forum in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which includes all member countries in the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), making Libya the 73rd member of this forum, the official spokesman of the Government Mohamed Hammouda, announced.

Hamouda said the Council of Ministers approved the proposal to establish an electric power plant using solar cell technology in the Ubari area.

The Council also approved the adoption of the memorandum of understanding concluded between the Institute of Diplomatic Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Academy of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of training and development of the staff of Libyan and Serbian diplomacy, and work on the organization of conferences, seminars and training courses.

The Council also approved, in its meeting yesterday, a request to sponsor Palestinian retirees who have spent many years of service in Libya, as well as workers in the private sector (self-employment) that the residence of these categories in the Department of Passports, Nationality and Foreigners Affairs be a special residence for a period of 5 years, with multiple entry and exemption from relevant fees.
