Tripoli: Maintenance teams from the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) are working around the clock to address network issues and reduce load shedding hours. The company has affirmed its ongoing efforts to rectify electrical grid malfunctions and restore operational balance, which is expected to gradually improve electricity supply across various regions.
According to Libyan News Agency, company spokesperson Wiam Al-Taeb, in a televised press statement, explained that repair work has commenced, with teams diligently addressing faults and overcoming obstacles. Al-Taeb emphasized GECOL's commitment to performing its duties with professionalism and responsibility, ensuring that citizens are kept informed about the actual status of the grid.
Al-Taeb urged citizens to cooperate with GECOL's teams and support efforts to protect power stations, control centers, and network facilities from any interference that might hinder maintenance and repair work. He highlighted the challenging conditions and field risks faced by company employees while maintaining and restoring power, stressing the significant sacrifices made to stabilize the grid.
The company expressed condolences for the loss of one of its employees who recently passed away, offering support to his family and colleagues. Despite the challenges, GECOL affirmed that its employees would continue their field duties, striving to achieve a more stable electricity grid and improve service levels for citizens.
