Umm qasr: The first Turkish power generation vessel, boasting a capacity of 125 megawatts, has docked at Berth 9 in Umm Qasr Southern Port. This event marks a significant step in a government agreement aimed at boosting the electrical power system with over 250 megawatts each day.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a second generating vessel, with an equal capacity, is scheduled to arrive at the same port in approximately a month. This is part of a governmental initiative to enhance the electricity sector with swift, interim measures.

Preparations are underway to secure the necessary gas oil fuel required for the operation of these stations upon their arrival. The operating company is tasked with overseeing the operation and technical management of the vessels to ensure they become operational as swiftly as possible.
