Fire Erupts in Diesel Tank at Zawiya Oil Depot

Tripoli: A fire broke out in one of the diesel tanks at the Zawiya oil depot. Brega Oil Marketing Company announced that the fire, which was accompanied by thick smoke, occurred in gasoline tank number (402). The tank suffered damage, but the circumstances leading to the fire remain unknown. According to Libyan News Agency, firefighting, safety, and emergency teams immediately started responding to the fire following approved response plans. Cooling operations were also conducted on adjacent tanks to prevent the fire from spreading further. The situation is being closely monitored, and damage assessments are underway. Any confirmed updates will be released when available. The company has reiterated its urgent appeal to all parties to cease hostilities and maintain a safe distance from oil facilities and depots due to the hazardous materials they contain. Approaching or targeting these facilities poses significant risks to the lives of citizens, workers, and the surrounding environment, as well as potentiall y disrupting fuel supplies.
