Tripoli: The GNU Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of National Unity convened a meeting on Sunday to discuss strategies for enhancing technical cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD). The discussions focused on evaluating ongoing programs and projects to bolster the agricultural and livestock sectors and to achieve food security objectives.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was led by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Mohamed Al-Turki, at the National Center for Animal Health. This gathering was in line with the directives of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Abdul Latif Al-Taher, who aims to develop technical collaboration and share expertise with regional and international organizations that specialize in agriculture.
During the meeting, participants reviewed several proposed cooperation projects with FAO and AOAD for the upcoming phase. They also addressed the actual needs of the agricultural and livestock sectors in terms of technical support and specialized expertise necessary for their advancement.
The meeting saw the participation of the Minister's Office Director, directors of the Ministry's technical departments and offices, directors and heads of affiliated centers, agencies, and technical bodies, as well as numerous specialized experts and technicians.
