Tripoli: The Environmental Police Department organized an event today to mark World Earth Day, with the participation of several educational and community institutions, as part of efforts to promote environmental awareness and the preservation of natural resources.
According to Libyan News Agency, the event, held in the Ministry of Agriculture's forest in Tripoli, saw the participation of the Libyan Organization for Environment and Climate, the Al-Hadba Scout and Guide Troop, and the Dar Al-Wafa and Bint Al-Watan schools. These activities are part of joint efforts aimed at establishing a culture of environmental awareness and encouraging positive environmental practices.
The event focused on raising awareness of the dangers of environmental pollution, particularly that resulting from plastic waste, oils, and gases, due to their negative impacts on humans, animals, and various environmental elements. Participants engaged in tree planting and cleanup activities at the site to promote these efforts.
World Earth Day is a global event that has been celebrated since 1970, with the participation of more than 190 countries worldwide. Its aim is to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote joint action to address the challenges associated with pollution and environmental disasters.
